Calm & Madness is a blog. A place on the internet for someone to voice their opinions. Blogs aren’t new things, they’ve been clogging up the internet for years. This one is mine.
It’s about technology and geeky stuff. I’m a web designer and your average gear-freak. Here is where I showcase my work, my thoughts and my arguments, which are usually quite loud and narrow.
I’m also a qualified contemporary musician. I play the guitar, piano and I’m a singer. I like music when it’s really loud. If your ears aren’t bleeding then you’re not doing it right.
I record and produce rock music. Tracks will often find themselves posted on this blog too, sometimes with a brief write-up of the process. Sometimes I’ll just plug my bands, shamelessly.
I am Jack Gutteridge. At the time of writing the year is 2012, putting me at twenty-three years old. I live in Clarendon Park, in Leicester, UK.
Calm & Madness is built using the popular open-source blogging program WordPress. I wrote the theme in strict XHTML. It’s minimal, taking influences from many popular blogs. Categories, tags, and complicated side-bars full of Web 2.0 faeces don’t belong here. Neither do comments or conversation, both where social media is a far better solution. It’s simple. Words, and sometimes pictures and noises. The contact page is there for your feedback and I’d love to hear from you, even if you think I should be tied up and drowned.
That’s pretty much it. I think it’s pretty fair that if you do continue to read on, you’ve been adequately warned. I hope you enjoy yourself here. If you do, give me a shout out or blog about it or something.
